How often does it happen in a lifetime, that you feel the dawn of a new era? But this happened to us in the automn of 1989, when we suddenly became part of the movement that brought an end to the GDR ... In a way, that was pure science fiction: incredible, fantastic, overwhelming - as the masses cried "Wahnsinn" (madness, craze). At that time, I wrote a short text with all the sense of change and uncertainty about the end. It is called "Den Träumen trauen" (Believe in Your Dreams). The feeling of that time between the ages is also transported in my (Karlheinz) diary notes "Aus Aufbruchzeiten" (From the Times of a New Beginning). - Sorry, all in German ...
